    If you're a student, neither because a better version will be out in a few years. Save up for that instead, and use your good old Motorola for a phone for the time being. If you're not, then its up to you but i'd be getting an iPhone jailbroken.

    For the comment about iPhone saves loggs of text messages not just individual ones...
    Blackberry does the same.
    You get the whole convo displayed not just an individual logg.
    You get an endless amount of profiles you can make for people. If you want a certain ringtone played when someone texts/calls you you can set it for every person.
    As far as college is considered you should go with black berry hands down. It's a PDA (Personal Digital Assistant) And is meant to assist you with your tasks and et cetera.
    Here are some apps that can be useful for you blackberry in college.
    Simply install the disk that came with your Blackberry (takes less than 5 minutes) plug your blackberry in and download these apps to your computer or if you have internet on your blackberry directly instal it by visiting the webpage.

    Writing a last minute essay or don't have a printer?
    Beamprint
    BeamPrint allows you to print your documents directly from your BlackBerry on any Bluetooth enabled printer.
    Need a college loan etc?
    FPC Bench

    GridMagic is a full-fledge spreadsheet that includes the following features:

    * Display formatted cell/text (including alignment, borders and background colors).
    * Row and column resizing.
    * Find, go to, and End mode.
    * Support Zoom factor.
    * Workbook editing and cell/text reformatting (cut, copy, paste cell data, insert/delete cells/rows/columns)
    * Auto cell formatting by entered example
    * Auto switch to numeric mode based on cell format.
    * Saving workbooks to smartphones (workbook categories for easy management)
    * Real-time recalculation
    * Features the most frequently used Microsoft Excel functions.
    * Desktop Synchronization (compatible with Microsoft Excel)
    * BlackBerry attachment integration

    Microsoft word is another app you can instal and allows you to write tyour papers on the phone>>> amazing eh? For college? I think so.

    Other useful apps
    Black & Whitelist is an application which detects incoming calls and reject unwanted callers who are blacklisted or allow only whitelist numbers to come through. You can use address book rule to allow only callers in your address book. Block even if the caller's number is unknown or private number.

    I'm probably going to downgrade, because I currently have 1.2 O_O somehow and customize doesn't work but everything else works fine pretty much.. Probably was from the iPhoneLike or iSetting app lol. Most of use used ziphone, and some had to use iLiberty [something with the bootloader downgrade for iPhones].

    Get a blackberry. Why? Chances are the iPhones will all start breaking in about a years time whereas Blackberrys have few hardware problems, plus you can pick and choose your provider easily rather than being sentenced to use whatever bids the most to Apple.

    I have heard no reports of iPhones breaking what so ever unless people bricked it doing the WinPwn jailbreak method and you can unlock the iPhone easily w/ Ziphone :P
