I think that it is ------ing ridiculous that MTV uses allusions of WWII Nazi genocide, to make some sort of anti-American political point, knowing that the majority of people watching it happens to be teens.

    Discuss.

i think youre misinterpreting it. its a holocaust awareness ad. its drawing a parallel; basically saying "imagine if these SWAT guys stormed a subway train and tore everybody apart from their families. its possible right? thats what happened to the jews on the train."

Amazing how seemingly smart people misinterpret seemingly simple advertisements and find a way to blame the media.

Really big waste of time on MTVs part. The commercial isn't very well made and obviously isn't very well interpreted.

I'd like to point out that in the end it says, "THE HOLOCAUST HAPPENED TO PEOPLE LIKE US". They're obviously showing a picture of Jews getting off a train in and there are guards which we can only assume to be Nazi seeing as the people are wearing the star of David. HOWEVER, a holocaust is something that happens, and has happened multiple times. It is not something that occurs only once, so for them to refer to the slaughter of Jews as "THE HOLOCAUST" is grammatically incorrect. In short, they're obviously a bunch of morons to have paid thousands of dollars on a ----ty commercial with a grammatical error in their statement. Sorry if I'm a bit harsh, being in advertising and all. I'm getting especially sick of the media referring to this one instance as 'the' holocaust as well.

    definition of "holocaust":
any mass slaughter or reckless destruction of life.

Really hilarious how mtv is doing something that concerns something that means something. All I have to say is MTV is a place of gossip if your looking for news then watch your local news channel.

Look, it's a commercial and they've allready reached their goal... people are talking about it.

and it says, "the holocaust happened to people like us". Now, I don't know about you but I don't see how that links the Us to a new nazi germany. It simply states that the Jews weren't any different from other people, so actually, they are standing up for the Jews.

And like pianoman said, the scene in the commercial could actually be real to some point. But they simply take them out of the metro, they don't mass slaughter them or anything.

Fact of the matter is MTV needs to shut the hell up with anything that isn't music (Reality shows, political elections, world affairs, Paramore, Linkin Park, Avril Lavigne etc. etc.).

Seriously, is that channel even worth anything productively when it comes to shows or music? Ugh, contamination for music and the media in general. Can't believe you people even bothered to care about what MTV, the biggest hypocrites when it comes to television titles, has to say about America.

that should explain what most of the MTV video is about, they're referring to "Operation Torch" saying that it is possible for it to happen again and if we are not careful (referring to America) than we will allow it to happen again by thinking Law Enforcement is always there to help us. I'm from America so don't think I'm bashing the country but we need to realize we are not impenetrable and not unbeatable. I believe the commercial is just calling attention to the growing police force presence, but like stated earlier it is very poorly made and if you do not know of current events then of course it will not make sense
