Sound awesome. Any plans on Creds though? I know they're not as big an issue any more but just wondering if any more ideas are being tacked on.

Theres a possibility of a class system coming in? If there is, is it going to be like other sites where you're judged on your skill level, or something completely different?

Classing is going to be different and help encourage activity in specific areas of the forum.

I haven't seen the system were intending to use before, so it won't be like a group of judges you submit a few sigs / tuts / lps to in order to get rated.

is there anything that will drastically separate it from any other forum? right now, its the community and the up to date IPB that make this place huge but i think it needs some extra flair...

also: is the pirates of the caribbean online render staying? i hope not...

I'd love to see more LPs, logs, website designs, and other form of graphic design than just signatures. GR has amazing skill, and potential, and i think the changes will make good use of them. I can't wait for the new upgrade. Dem. can you give us a an approximate date? And will we be able to sell (not for creds) important work such as website layouts, magazine covers etc? Gamerenders would become a great design site.

Sorry, no one from this site would be experienced enough to complete what were attempting to do.

    sweeping generalization.

"it's highly unlikely that anyone would be experienced enough, willing to put in the time, AND willing to do it under our terms"

just being a dick though. I know you guys have some good stuff planned and with any luck it'll turn out great.

Sorry, considering we've been contacting Dean, Bfarber (two IPS workers and former free lance modders), FuSoYa, and Calypso, some of the best modders in the IPB world and were still putting them through interviews... yeah, name someone on GR who can compete with them?

This has kind of been answered, but I'm not fully 100% sure on what I think I may know...

So with this new overhaul, are you expecting to see the loss of members because of it? Is this changing the catering of the forum to a higher-end, upper-class graphic artists? Because I'm worried that the people who are less talented and do this more of as a hobby might end up being eviscerated from the forums altogether. It seems like this new organized process may potentially scare away the newer people we get and that our community may start to dwindle into a smaller number. I don't know if it will be too notice-able, but it may be worth noting.

We are intending to make the site a community based high end art site, in that regards we feel a lot of the members whom are beginners will have a hard time adjusting, and a lot of members infatuated with the marketplace will also be leaving, as changes will be occurring there as well.

In the end, the numbers and size of the site isn't as much of a concern as much as bringing GR back as a community is again.

Dean doesn't work for IPS. Bfarber isn't legally allowed to accept custom modding jobs anymore, as that would obviously be considered a threat to IPS. I spoke to FuSoYa and he hasn't heard of you guys. Calypso is gaining popularity, but he isn't no where near the rank of the first three mentioned. You also missed vadim, supersmashbrothers, and a couple other bigger modders that beat him. Not to mention, their to well known to "go through interviews." If you asked them for an interview or portfolio of their work, they'd laugh at you. Between just the first three mentioned, they have pver 400 modifications coded that are publically released. That's not counting privately-made.

If you need large work done, you are going to have to contact several IPB modders. IPB modders have never had a good reputation with doing a lot of large work at once, even the bigger named ones. They have so many jobs to choose from, they don't need the stress of large deadlines. I've spoken to the Adminstrators here though, and if they do manage to get the few ipb edits i've heard mentioned done, it'll be pretty impressive if done right. I hope to see this soon.

Bringing up the old, but since it's been nearly a month and a half, any idea as to when this should be taking place?
