Auction house So, I'm not a PHP coder and I'm not sure what the budget is for V4, but here's what I had in mind: If a new thread is created in the auction section, there would be the original input fields (title, sub title, post) but there would be more. Instead of the post input, there would be an 'item description' field, 'item screenshot', 'item start' (the user would input a start price IE 250), 'raise current bid' (user would set an up IE 50 credits), a reserve and a BIN. The new thread would include 'up' and 'BIN' buttons under the item screenshot and description. Customizable User portfolios Seeing as how this feature could take up quite a bit of memory on the server, this would be for users Ruby and higher. It'd just be a portfolio made by the user, which would include links to their DAs, PBs, stuff like that. <---- Edit 1 ----> Homepage A couple weeks back you (logicaly and dem) were talking about Wordpress. Just taking a guess but I'm guessing that would be a new homepage for GR to give it a more 'pr0f3ssional' feel. Now, with addition of that, you can sell topic space, like, $1 a spot to leave a link on the homepage, for more exposure. Along with that there would be the SotW, LAofM, and RotW winners. With the addition of that (and the portfolio/web space I mentioned earlier), the staff can implement a Web Design of the week (or month depending on the popularity). *of the week competitions and GR Mafia (kindaish) Remember when the Mafia actually bought resources for the community? Yea, lets try it one last time, only, have the staff run it this time (as members fail at the site of credits). The mafia would purchase the *of the week top 2-4 entrees, have them tutorialized and released to the community. I believe this was supposed to happen with the previous mafia... Yea, well we know how this turned out. Will add more later
A Light colored skin would be good I think. Or enable the Skin Selector so we could choose what skin to use.
New banner for sure. I'd also like to see a better battle center. Right now it seems to be there just for looks.

Maybe a new ad system Normal members see normal ads Ruby members can choose to replace normal ads with porn/sexy ads Diamond and Platinum don't need to see ads but can turn on the porn/sexy ones I wouldn't be surprised if you see an increase in ad revenue I like that personal portfolio idea, and I don't believe it would be too hard, maybe make it purchasable through the Store(although I'm not sure how that would work out) I think the auction room idea is a good one as well. Adult section would be kind of funny, but I'm not sure it would be able to be regulated very well.

Let me make it very clear, that an adult section/sexy/porn related ads, will not ever be a part of GR. If you guys arent going to be serious in your opinions (I do hope they where not serious ones), then dont bother. As for the rest of the ideas, some of them are very good, and some of them are ones we are already taking into consideration.
Oh ya and if you guys are thinking of haveing a small or somekind of Home Page, maybe have it like PR so that it shows SOTW winners, LAOTM winners...ect Also, i think GR went totally away from what it was made for. Renders. We need a better render search thing like we used to have. But now its only accessible from the splash. Maybe exstend it from just renders too stocks, c4ds, v4ds, and renders...ect
nansta, i gotta agree with you there. more renders, more gaming focus. perhaps we could have a game of the week, which would set the theme for the SotW and RotW contests.... we could also implement a Review of the week and Tip of the week, also centered around that game. with prizes and such, it would really bring the entire community of regulars together, and unify the diverse activities that take place at GR. for example: it's BIOSHOCK WEEK at GR! RotW contest - best cuts of big daddies SotW contest - best depiction of one of the bioshock endings - good or bad Review of the week contest - best written review Tip of the week contest - best strategy for beating splicers, etc. this would bring in more non-graphics traffic, as more folks would come for the reviews and tips.
i dont see the point of having the portfolio really, since there's already DA and already well established. maybe just a section to post up links to your DA, thats all and i would really like to see the staff really get into rendering. maybe not render the thing itself, but suggest pics to be rendered. hope im making sense
