so something like a bimonthly release of tutorials, PSDs, and LPs/wallpapers? i think we can handle that, we've got a lot of prolific sigmakers in BC. however, some of us work more on LPs and such that take longer to do. would every member of the crew be required to have a contribution to each release? because i can see a hybrid system working out where the sigmakers in the crew release on a monthly or bimonthly basis, and the LP makers assemble a quarterly art pack....

i can't say i disagree with your goal of increasing activity once a person has joined a crew. BC's had to kick out several waves of people who posted enough to get in, but then stopped. and while art packs and releases are one way to gauge the activity of the crew or team, i don't think they should be the sole factor. you can post everyday, but some members may have more limited access to their graphics programs (LOL MY PS IS ON ANOTHER COMPUTER SRY) etc.

maybe something like this: each team/crew would have to have a monthly or bimonthly release, with contributions by at least 5 different members. they don't have to be the SAME members each time, but it would grant the members some flexibility, while maintaining a regular release schedule. :)

Pepsi pretty much said what I was thinking. I wouldn't like the idea of no crews, but I like the idea of having crew "requirements" so there won't be any inactive crews.

I'm kind of worried that the graphics are coming to a standstill. It doesn't seem to be evolving as much and everyone is starting to become really close-minded when it comes to anything different.

And I never really got into Crews (likely because I disappeared for a while), but it would be kind of sad to see them go. Although a new approach to it would be cool, too.

Its because were moving towards art groups, not 'crews', GR will be geared towards designing, and not simple signatures. The primary aspect of the upgrade is to move GR to a more professional design site and away from the catering to all new individuals. Were aware this will upset many people, but we feel it will be best for GR.

I would disagree with that. I thinkk crews are a great way to learn more,
socialize, do projects. TBH, it would suck if they were removed. Maybe just prune inactive ones?

Thats a good idea, it will give peopel a chance to learn
professianal Design so that they can maybe use it in the future, maybe even Major in it. Hmm.

eh dem, you mean more like groups releasing LPs depthcore-style? sounds cool, i suppose. i could get behind that - i'm doing paintings almost exclusively now.

I really glad all the credit hungry '---'s' have left here... bunch of ego maniacal wankers!

In regards to crews - when I started BC - it was all about letting everyone feel like they could be part of summat bigger. Now that I'm back here at GR, I find the team is all about the type of BS we who started it were against... I think stricter rules for activity would be good and also some kind of rule against all the elitism and BS that it seems to manifest within teams should be encouraged. My idea of 'team' is a group of ppl willing to embrace ppl of all skill levels, in order to share knowledge - not to pick all the 'best' ppl so you can somehow make yourself feel important and make ppl you 'reject' feel like dog---- because you don't think their skills match your own...

This isn't sour grapes BTW - this is how I felt a yr ago - and still feel today :D

Please don't encourage this whole 'I'm better than you attitude' in the new form - I thought it was all about having fun :D

This will hopefully boost those whom have a drive to new levels of artistic design, or at least that is our intent, not to shove a classing system down peoples throats (though, there will be a unique version of the classing system if all goes as planned).

Now this sounds promising :D We should be embracing all skill levels, not ostracizing those who are giving it a go :D

Well that's gonna be interesting. I'll be interested to see what such an (understandably) class-negative site comes up with lol

    about the crews,

i think its a good thing to remove them, there are just too much of them, back in the old days you uhm 2 - 3 crews that i can remember, that was Next Level and UV.. it was special to become a member of that and ppl who got in worked hard for that and kept improving because they wanted too join..

now almost everybody is in a crew..

something i would like too see in v4 is, like 3 staff members having a crew, all with high standards too join, and every staff has a different categorie like tags, LP's and webdesign for example, this way i think people will start trying to improve again :)

i wouldnt like seeing the crews go but id like to see stricter rules on them
like so we have to be active and dr pepsi said an excellent idea releasing resource packs each month or having like a crew of a month which goes to whoevers contributed the most to gr that month

I like the sound of a class system tbh, would defo make GR seem more "-----" if thats what your going for. These new art pack "exhibition" things are popular now aswell.
