I would best suggest you to use an external HDD which is the I believe now the best and most portable way to transfer files between computers :)

Do you even read threads before you comment? Or just the opening topic post?

I guess I will try the IDE swap, don't really want to, but if no one else knows of any ways to fix it, I guess I have to.

I just got a new computer as well and had the same problem networking from XP to Vista. I used a IDE to USB 2.0 cable and a power adapter for the HDD and worked perfectly, it just installed as another drive automatically.

Just make sure you set the dip switch setting to Master or Single drive and you'll be good to go. You could then potentially use it as a external HDD when you want to.

Haven't read the whole topic, but try an Ethernet crossover cable. Then just use ftp (flashfxp is good) to connect. Used it for my xbox1 when dropping files etc, works a treat.

Although the ide swap would be far easier, only take a few mins to swap over and you're away :P

i agree, just rip out the harddrive (not litteraly rip) and put it in your new PC and the ribbons usualy have 2 imputs on them? why not throw it on either one of those? or if it doesnt have 2 connectors, get one that does for like, $3 or so?
