Due to lack of internet (Im connected now at 8kb/s... its ---) I decided to try paint something in photoshop. This is literally my first time doing this so there may be some major flaws in the painting but I dont really think so... Anyway Im gonna post stuff as I do them so I can hopefully get comments as I go as I hate coming back to a piece that I think is finished. Id rather fix stuff as I go.

So far I guess ive spent about 8 hours on it. Theres more to her than just a head and shoulders she has a whole body but its just a black line drawing atm so no point in uploading it (as it would take forever on this connection anyway)... I just cropped it to the area that Ive painted.

    Anyway, comments would be awesome.

EDIT: The stuff outside the lines will be tidied up at the end.

The eyes are a little scary and did you do the lineart by stroking a path? You should try to use shape layers, because you can vary the thickness of the lines more efficiently. But other than that, the painting is AMAZING. You blended everything so well I can't believe you said it was your first time. The hair must have taken some time... Really I'm blown away at how well you blended and colored everything. Looking forward to seeing the finished piece! :D

    you want my honest opinion?

    her tits look imbalanced
other than that, cant say anythin much until it's completed
it looks like it's gonna be great.
btw, did you use a mouse-pen to paint?

2 Updates in one... The one on the left came first and was then worked into the one on the right which Im now continuing on.

Yeah I wasnt sure what to do with the eyes but Ive fixed that in the image in this post and they look 100 times better partly because they purple now. The lines are kinda just there to allow me some room for error while im painting in the tones, they get removed as I go. Ill leave some behind though I think as I kinda like them. I havent tried shape layers yet I just kinda stuck with what I know for the line art. Hair originally took the longest but since Ive gone back and redone the face the face has taken the longest.

    Thanks :D

Her left tit (your right) is being pushed by her arm. Boobs arent pieces of round plastic they are squishy fleshy balloon type things. Basically like a water balloon, they stretch and twist depending on the positions of the arms. I used a wacom tablet pen thing that i bought 2 years ago but never used for all the painting.

by the looks of how you're progressing, this will be looking good by the time it's done. i only have a few qualms with her cheekbone shape, but you're clearing up most of the other problems areas. good luck!
