for XBL, you have to pay monthly. with PS3, you dont. its free. forever. PS3 has more games. better graphics. and yes, i know for a fact that it does, because i have both a PS3 and an xBox. and a 73" projection T.V. PS3 is WAY better than xBox. the PS3 controllers are a lot smaller and less bulky. so IMO. PS3 is the way to go.
Wouldn't bother. If you want a console, get the Wii. If there are no games on the Wii you want, get a computer. Seriously, pretty much all the decent games for 360 have also come out for PC plus PC-only games number thousands more; you can get a 360 controller, wired or wireless, that plugs right into your PC and games like Halo and Gears of War are designed to be played with it as well (plus, if you get wireless the adapter you need allows you to use nearly all wireless peripherals for the 360 on your PC); PC's are far more upgradable so you buy it now, in three years time you don't need a Xbox 720 or wtvr, you just buy a new GFX card or upgrade as you go, and backwards compatibly is almost totally assured; PC's on the whole have longer life spans, cost less and can be used for far more things besides gaming. If you have a Wii and a good PC there are only a handful of games, mainly on PS3, you can't buy.
Wii is for ------ing kids. Nothing to say about PS3 - Its good I guess. Xbox360 is awesome. and ------ off, you dont need to pay monthly to play xbox360 online.. you can pay once/year, like 40 bucks. Unless youre ------ing cheap, you wont have a problem with that.
still. the point is. you need to still pay to play online fo xbox. even if it is 40 bucks for a year. ur still paying so you can play online. with PS3. you never have to pay. ever. the only thing you have to pay for is some of the downloadble material for some games. but thats like 10 bucks at the most.
i love my xbox 360 even though im on my 4th one... its not a big deal to send it in...i get a new one a month free and 400 microsoft points... also the ps3 has nothing close to the downloadable content the xbox 360 has and on 60 bucks a year? im sure you could beg for money and within a couple of days you would get 60 bucks plus the xbox 360 has better exclusive games...gears of war 1/2 halo 3 o and there cheaper
"PS3 has more games" - Since...when? It's well known, and right, that the Xbox 360 has a larger game collection then the PS3 does, ergo, point invalid. "the PS3 controllers are a lot smaller and less bulky" - The 360 controller is anything but huge, and that's down to PURE personal preference. "better graphics" - The difference is practically nothing, I've seen HD footage and heck, my own games played on both a PS3 + Xbox 360 and if you're comparing the graphics the difference is miniscule at best. "for XBL, you have to pay monthly. with PS3, you dont." - I'd rather pay for a populated well run Live service then get a free substandard one, even if Sony make changes it's never going to have near the multiplayer base that the 360 does. Finally. Price, 360 is cheaper for essentially the same experience with better multiplayer and more games. It's an easy decision.
Call of duty 4, Gears of war, Fallout 4, Fable 3, GTV 4 Downable content, Longer lasting controllers, DIVX support, Xbox Live (Even though you have to pay monthly), ACHIEVEMENTS, Halo, Rainbow Vegas 2. Some are multi patform, but there are real good exclusives. PS3 has nice ones and Wii, but Xbox has the best game library. If you dont like a loud noise, get the 360 elite. If you dont want the ring of death, get a PS3 or wii.

I have all 3 of the consoles , and my xbox is currently being used as a bedside table and a radiator. I'm not even joking. :|
It really depends if your a gamer, and if so what type of games you play. The Wii has a more futuristic next-gen system, which is amazing. The 360 has everything your Ps2/xbox had, but better. The graphic quality is far greater than the Wii's, and the games are amazing. Halo 3 anyone? The Ps3, is a great system, its just that we aren't that far in the 'road of technology' yet to enjoy it, moreover there aren't that many appealing games. Except Final Fantasy XII.. but seriously, c'mon. However, i predict the Ps3 will beat the 360 and the Wii in the future just before Ps4 is released (yes there will be a Ps4, around 2010.
Off Topic -: I've heard some rumors Mircosoft might stop making consoles (aka Xbox 720) because of the billion dollars they had to pay for defective xbox 360s. I doubt that though, they just need to make better hardware. Since they are going to make their own hardware. 720 = more quiet please and less burning? =] Anyway, I love the 360 because of games. I play a lot since I got gears of war, etc. PS3 has nice games, and i like the technology adapted into it. soo depends on you.

It's got really good exclusives and all the great ps3 games are available on xbox360. Besides Mass Effect, Halo, ACreed, and Bioshock it's got GTA, Army of Two etc. The best reason to buy a 360 is the most important reason, the games.
