I think im getting a bit better,trying new styles (i dont use tuts,tho ill glance at one every couple months or so)....tell me what you think could be better with this one please ^_^

 

i think you need some new smudge settings, ill PM you some later on

 

the only thing i really smudged was around the render,and that was to give him some depth.other than that,its mainly filter work

 

the entire bg looks smudged, but if its filters then its probably the clouds filter?

 

only for depth,lower opacity then gaussian blur.i make the majority of my bgs by filtering renders and stock photos together,and going through dozens of layers of blending,filters and adjusting until i achieve the goal i want.its odd and complicated,but it works for me ^_^

 

I like the fact that you don't use tutorials; I have never used a single tutorial in all of my GFX experience. The sig is okay, but the background is quite brush-styled and "noobish." I suggest working with photomanipulation of a render over a real-life stock until you get better.
