Since GR switched to this skin, I haven't felt the same about it. I almost completely lost interest and my activity stopped. I check back every now and then, but I can never become active even when I want to. I'm not blaming it solely on the skin of course, but it did help a bit. :tongue: The previous skin was really awesome. Is there anyway GR could put the IPB's feature of having multiple skins to use? Just a suggestion.
Lol, Though i think its a good idea to use the multi skin feature. It dosnt make sense that the skin is the reason for your absence.
this was brought up a lot at the time of the new skin, and we said that we would not be bringing the old skin back. its possible the admins have changed their minds, but im almost positive they havnt.
I don't like the multiple skins idea, because renders won't look the same with two (or more) different background colors, so people could take advantage of that... plus it's very nice the way it is already... global skin ftw
You bring up the worst point in my opinion. It'd actually by a great feature just to see what the render looks like on 2 different colors.
All I have to say is: Having the ability to switch back to a previous skin is a nice feature for members with some serious adjustment issues in their lives, but a skin is how you remember GR and the best thing for a website is that everyone has the same picture in mind when they think of GR. When there are more skins, this is not possible. Not to offend you or anything, but this is just how I think about it.
At first, I won't lie, it took me a while to get adjusted to the new skin.. but now I absolutely love it and would not want to switch back. Rid of the old and in with the new!
And its being turned down again, because then we would have to custom code both skins, to work with every little change we do. We have enough coding stuff to deal with as it is, let alone having to maintain two seperate skins.
