It's the same. No way it'll kill anything, especially since practically nobody uses sprint. Most have AT&T or Tmobile around here.

if no one had Sprint/nextel than no one uses verizion or alltel either. Around here AT&T barely is used, it's mostly Sprint, Alltel, and Verizion...so its basically a location thing

I suppose, but I don't think it's going to "kill the iphone" the voyager sure didn't and it came out right after.

and why do you think it'll be bound to a particular service?

    here's my thoughts.

    I want a device for roughly $150
it needs to have expandable memory and a user replaceable battery
it needs some form of feedback after a keystroke is entered, buttons preferred but whatever works works
needs to be able to play mp3s or similar.
    needs good sound quality.

hell if they can shrink laptops down small enough with the new silverthrone chips aka intel atom CPUs and the like I might even plop down a few hundred for a medium sized (think 20*12cm) ultra portable device that can do anything and everything.

Just a new Fad, not going to kill anything that I know of.

Same with the new Verizon phone... err forget the name now. Can't look it up neither, no time.

I am with XLink but for right now I have the Moto Q.

    This interested me:
So, say I'm in a car or something in the middle of nowhere.. I could use the internet still on my laptop?

no. if you're in the middle of nowhere there are no cell phone towers and your signal will well there won't be any signal. but if you're relatively close to civilization(think public camp ground or similar) then you'll likely be alright.

also it's an expensive way to do internet.

The Instinct looks good but I don't think it will "kill" the iPhone. The only reason I don't have an iPhone is because I can't switch off of Sprint. I will be buying an Instinct though because it is the next best thing for me. I would rather have the Samsung f700 since it has a slide out keyboard instead of on-screen but I haven't heard anything about it coming to the US any time soon.
