this isn't the fashion industry guys ;) styles do tend to come and go, but that doesn't mean they are bad.

overall, i thinks flat, pixel stretch and render re-use are fine for the bg, but its pretty simple. (sure this sounds similar to what they said i just don't like seeing it compared to "styles being trendy or not" ) you can use whatever style you want, but you can still improve a little and tutorials would help you there ^_^

I was saying techniques because the flow is messed up by the bg and the bg has no depth. I don't mind the style, but I think he needs techniques like creating flow, lighting, depth, etc. :)

I rushed that last comment. Muh bad on that one. :P

That one seems a bit too dark at some parts and it is not possible to see the render completely clearly.
Try to blur the background a bit to create some depth and may add some adjustement layers.

    It's not horrible.
But the effects do seem a bit bleh. :(

The big motion blur on the left kills the flow imo.
Also, I would say the blending tends to just mush
in to the render and the focul's paying for it.

Check out some of the other sigs here and get some
    tips. ;)
There's a lot of awesome new techniques. ^_^ Just look
    at Deacu's beauties. <3
