Ok, so I finally found a sound driver that works, and I got it running.. So I start CS 1.6, and what happens? FPS Drops every second, + major lag.. so I uninstall the sound driver back to no sound, and it works perfectly... How the ------ can sound make me lag/fps drop that much?

Any way to fix or so? THanks in advance.

I dont know why having sound would cause a fps drop /lag issues, are you using onboard sound? If so try using a sound card instead and see what happens.

wouldn't think it'd be much of an issue

sound does increase io overhead though

try different drivers, older version perhaps

To see if its actually the sound drivers themselves... Reinstall them, but turn off sound in the game options.
