So apparently Mac released Safari for Windows about two weeks ago.
If you updated your itunes using the auto update it apparently came with it.
I didn't auto update it until yesterday and boom there is Safari, I can't say I'm complaining though its actually pretty nice on Windows.
I have a Mac also, but I always installed firefox on it however on Windows so far Safari seems to be doing better then firefox for me x_X
There of course are pros and cons though, for example one major con of Safari on Windows would be that you don't have themes and can't change the overall feeling of the program (or at least I haven't found a way to yet). A few of the major pros that are really boosting my opinion on it though include faster loading then most of my other browsers (including firefox, opera, flock, mozilla, netscape, and IE... yes I'm a browser whore). It also has some sort of text resampling feature? On my other browsers I had to strain to read text, on this one it seems to pop better (It kind of has a glow effect on all text... if that makes any sense at all to you?), and the last thing that I'm liking about it would be the text box resizing feature. Lots of my friends have really annoying "MySpaces" and junk where the text boxes are way to small to be able to read/see any of the pictures. With the new Safari you can just drag them bigger.

So mainly, does anyone else like it so far?
Do you think you'll start using it as a main/secondary browser?
If you haven't tried it will you?
Any pros and cons you've found?

    middle click

    anywhere.

    try and scroll

    you can't

the middle click on a tab to close it...
    nothing

seems to me as if apple made an ill adapted product for it's target audience and then is advertising superiority, which is sad as it is not that secure of a browser as far as security goes and it has some very poor performance where javascript i involved.

also the reason you're straining to read text is because you don't' have clear type enabled. nothing about the browser itself. in safari WHEN i have clear type enabled the text is actually blurry. This tells me two things. Other browsers conform to what M$ specified while safari did not. Quality control failed and let that slip by.

until apple gets user friendliness down I'm not touching their garbage. it doesn't just work if I have to do my own hacks to get it to even startup, and it doesn't work if it's designed around a mouse which sucks.

Safari is a Mac browser. They should keep it that way. They've got for too much competition in Windows thats doing everything they're doing except better and faster (Opera/Firefox). They should go back to iTunes and see if they can fix it from being bloatware again.

And yes I tried using it. And after it crashed the first 3 times I started it up, I got it to navigate to here where it couldn't display text properly. At which point it gave up and crashed again.

It just looks like Mac 9 Safari on your Windows system. It's not really anything special. Pages can be SEEN loading from top to bottom unlike with opera and fx you can see them load fullout then load images top to bottom. That's not good. It is just slower loading...

The scroll thing doesn't bother me too much on the press down and hold but scrolling up and down is WAY less sensetive and takes a little longer to scroll up and down a page.

    It just isn't the best...

Well I own several MBPs and its great on them...but i must agree Safari's performance on Windows, especially Vista is rather appalling. It really is much faster then Firefox on Mac hence I use it while I'm on the Mac however Firefox has far superior performance under Windows or Linux. It probably does have a few venerabilities running under windows, but if your running Windows I think your web browser is the least of your security concerns.
