I am thinking of buying a mp3 player. And I want something small. I don't need a screen to watch video. Just music.

So I was thinking of buying an iPod Shuffle or a Creative Zen Stone cause of their size. I don't really care that the Zen is like 3 mm bigger in height and width. Although I like the design of the iPod. And that it plays m4p files. Half of the songs I have in my playlist are m4p files. The clip is also something I really like about it. But there are some downsides too IMO. For example if I loose the charger I will have to buy a new one. Also that you can only shuffle and repeat on it. So you can't switch between albums.

I like the design of the Zen just not as much as I like the design of the Shuffle. I don't like that it doesn't play m4p files but it does switch between albums. It doesn't have a clip like the iPod has so that's a big downside. But I do like how I can drag and drop files into it. And if I loose the USB cable I got with it I can just use another one.

I would like to know what you guys think I should buy? I don't say iPod! Apple FTW! That doesn't really help me....

Og btw I was wondering if the Shuffle or the Zen break easily? I mean they are kinda small so it's not that odd that I ask...

    My opinion: ZEN

    why?
    1) I buy only Zen material if i need some, I'm very happy with the service and the hardware
    2) It's much cheaper to buy a ZEN then a Ipod, if you would buy a IPOD you'll pay for the name, not only for the product
    3) I rest my case

    way to go.

For you, i say shuffle. i think compatibility is really important. if the zen doesnt play m4p and you have lots of them, it would make more sense to get the ipod. but i dont know much about the zen though.

And the shuffle is not expensive at all.

Its like 60 or 50 for one gig. and 60 or 70 for two.

I like the design much better and I do not like Zen's.

    Shuffle imo.

Ipods are more reliable, and Apple's customer service is actually very good, as for Zen's I wouldn't know. I have both the Zen and the Ipod, and I prefer the Ipod more, but I would say, go for the ladder.

the iPod doesn't play mp3 OR mp4 Or... OR...
so that's not much of a comparison in and of itself.
    that's limiting to some people.

plus itunes sucks and you're basically forced into using it.

I'm actually going to agree on that account. for the money though they're a worse deal. Also there are plenty of options out there, check some of the stuff sandisk has out. very competitive.

    IPod plays:

Audio Support: Apple reports that the iPod shuffle supports "MP3 (8 to 320 Kbps), MP3 VBR, AAC (8 to 320 Kbps), Protected AAC (from iTunes Store, M4A, M4B, M4P), Audible (formats 2, 3 and 4), and WAV."
