My problem pretty much is the fact that im missing a lot of the filter commands. When I try to use them they are gray. Only a few things are available on the filter tab. Am I missing the plugins or something? Someone help .-. And yes I have the full version of Photoshop CS3. I also had the same problem with CS2, this started happening after I reformatted and re-installed, but not in the past.
I've had this problem before, and it does seem to be only temporary. Anyway, I 'fixed' it by opening an old .PSD of mine (one where I know that the 'Filters' worked on it), and then completely cleared it, giving me a blank canvas. I then saved over it with a different name (as to not lose the old file), and made my sig/large art/etc. as normal. The filters all worked (on that piece) when I did that. I hope that helps. =]
OMG THAT IS SO GENIUS. It actually worked. Thank you so much xD. Problem Solved. K...One problem...How do I save my settings so that it stays that way when i make a new one, because id hate to load this up everytime. It makes everything so troublesome .-. So is there a way to make the settings changed permanently?
Was that supposed to be a smart answer? What I meant was, how do I save the Photoshop CS3 Settings, so when I go to file-->new and create a blank piece, Id still be able to have the all the filter option features, instead of doing it the long way and having to open an old psd file every time.
The most simplest answer and the most probable one is that you have it in the wong image mode. Simply, Image > Mode > RGB Color (make sure it's ticked) Also make sure it's 8 bits/channel
