    I see what you were going for with the lighting, but I just don't think that the background does the render or the concept justice.
    Maybe try something not grungy(unless you want it to be grunge). Try some different lighting effects and some nicer colors because it is
    pretty monotoned. If you were to add some of the gold from the render into the background it would make a huge difference for the better.

    very,very plain. :(
    try adding smudge effects and different brushes to your work.
    The lighting is a good idea but needs developing on.

    I find that you need to develop your own style if your at all serious about graphics/art. What I would do if I were you is take more time with your work. Simply play with it. Different brushes, filters, effects, etc. The more you develop your own style the better. Even if people don't like them at first you will eventually get to the point where you will create art that doesn't break the laws of photoshop. You will create something entirely your own.

    Thats what the greats do. They don't copy faddy styles. They are original.
