    CnC i suppose?
    appreciated

was thinking about switching around the box on the right, with the one on the left, and possibly shortening it a bit, that or add to what
    would be incoporated into it

There are areas where it looks really great and others where it doesn't such as the bottom bar with the copyright sign.

The whole thing seems a bit blury. The underglow on the main titles/navigation isn't needed at all. The navigation background itself is quite nice, aside from the bevel/emboss effects. You want to stay clear of that feature. Here is a quick tip about the news portion of the template:

Title should be bolder and bigger then the blurb
    Here goes the dummy text

Overall, it isn't too bad, some room for improvement.

yea i feathered too much on a few edges, i think the full-sized is slightly better looking in that area, but yea it needs
    changes, thanks for the CnC
wasn't entirely sure how i should change the copyright bar so i just left it in the end
didn't want it standing out really

ill add that to my guidlines for the next few i create
    much appreciated :)

For a first layout, it shows you have some skill. On the other hand theres still alot to be learned here.
IMO; Try not to make the header & navigation bars so thick, it takes away from the rest of the site. The text is also too big.
In most cases I would tell you that theres too much gloss, but here it really doesn't look that bad.
Other than that man its good for a first site. My advice would be to just keep making new designs and posting them here.
Also look around at other work here, you can learn alot just from seeing other peoples work.
    :)
