The first was realism; I made the start and he did the end. The second was abstract; Humac started and I ended. We both tried something we don't do often or at all on both, so CnC is welcome
The first one is a little messy and unrealistic in too many areas. It's mostly the background - the soldier and the wall works well. I like the second one's texture and feel, but its composition throws it off a bit for me. Still, nice job both of you.
Both are nice but like Forevvei said, the first is too unrealistic in some places. For me it's the blast in the middle that throws things off as that just looks odd. Otherwise, you both did a nice job!
thanks! that blast in the middle was already there tho, and it would have been nearly impossible to clone it off >_< That was my first attempt at realism xD
Contrast in both is f*cking them up. The first one has nice composition, but lacks depth and again, is well oversaturated/overcontrasted which makes it look retarded.
For the blast, you could have rendered out the soldier and wall, ONLY the wall, not the blast, and then you could take the soldier and wall and blend them into a different battle scene, if that makes sense.
