    Hi guys,
    So here I am thinking I have photoshop skills and then I see this amazing art you've all made. I wanna give it a go.
    First of all, familiarize me with the terminology please. Secondly, what is a tag or signature? (if they are the same thing)
    Third of all, what makes one good? What makes it stand out? How can one be improved upon? TELL ME ALL!

    thank you so much.
    you are all amazing

    well what you have right in your sig space is a tag typically between 300 px in height to 400 px in height and 100 px in length to 200 px in length that would be the size of a signature and the artwork of it is up to you and your skills.

    As for terminology it would take days to go through it all you'll just have to pick up along the way and do lots of the very very good tutorials game renders has to offer.

    ok. but for the sig. - what do u put in it to make it good? i mean, i can just put a flower or something and there it will be. simple and to the point. or is there more to it as it seems, something called c4d and renders and much more of the sort.
    i haven't been online in a really long time and not i dont remember ANYTHING.

    what is:
    c4d (or something like that)?
    render?

    thanks

    Yeah nice try >.>
    A render is like a pic that has no backround.....when you're making a sig with it or tag. I just usually copy and paste it afer uploading. Well thats my definition. :)

    Anyway isnt tag and sig the same thing just different terminolgy?

    You dont HAVE to put things in your sig to make it look good. Sigs and Tags are the same thing by the way.
    you dont HAVE to use c4ds. I don't . Its pretty much just being creative in my opinion. Experiment and you will get better. I assure you.
    A render is pretty much a what master w90 said. XD Say you see a character on a wallpaper, and that same character but with no background. The one with no background is a render.
    A stock would be the wallpaper. Background and everything.
    Most people prefer to NOT have a border around a sig, but thats up to you.
    A C4D is like... an abstract image of sorts XD Its made in Cinema 4 D...and...I dunno how to explain >.<

    Oh, You also dont want to over contrast your signatures. Dont make them too dark, but dont make them too bright either.
    Make the colors nice and make sure they match.. unless youre going for that colorful wild look. Like my currents, all the colors match ( well, i think so XD ) and it isnt too bright, or too dark.
    Also, the sig should Flow in one direction. maybe 2 if you know how to pull it off. Both my current sigs go in the upper left diagonal direction.
    If a sig has the effects all over the place, it wont look good.

    A signature (sig) is an image that you can put in your signature box in a forum. A signature has a name on the artwork though.

    A render is a 3d image, but most people on this site refer to every image as a render. (I don't know why, I don't care really)

    An image is...well...an image or picture :S lol

    A stock is a royalty free image or render that has absolutely no copyights or permission and anyone can use it. (but the person who owns the stock can make their own rules of course.)

    C4D = Cinema 4d, a 3d program.

    Tag = a signature with no name on it, so its not a signature, its a tag :S

    CnC = comments and criticism
