You're retarded. Last time I checked flame wars were allowed in here as long as it ended here and didn't go into the other forums. gg though
the way you say it is as if they had RIGHTS above and beyond that of heterosexuals. Let's leave it at this, I cannot marry a man I as a heterosexual lack that right, in fact such a thing is not a right. My mother cannot marry a woman, As a hetero she lacks that right too. I'm not saying anything about homosexuals being unable to be married, I'm just saying that you should not be able to reap financial benefits which are made to protect children when you cannot have children. The natural refutal to that is that there is adoption, and yet when a single person adopts a child they don't get extra shid. Why should two people get extra stuff for an expense they planed? Heterosexuals have no choice on children - IT HAPPENS. Heck i have a step brother, knocked up his girl friend while using a condom(he had proposed before he knew but still) He had no plans of having a kid. Then the next kid he has his wife was on birth control, Then he had a vasectomy... FYI that failed too still got another 3rd kid. So now it's vasectomy, tied tubes, condom AND birth control and they're crossing their fingers they don't get any more. besides if it was love then it wouldn't matter what it's labbeled legally, it's just a money grab. You know what? I'd rather have the money going to the poor.
Don't give me that crap that Gay/Lesbian couples only get married for the money Xlink. If it was love it wouldn't matter if it was written down legally? So why do hetero couples get married? It's the same damn thing. It's not about money, it's about it being official, about being equal with everyone else for once and actually being allowed to love each other and that being viewed as OK. And of course, say there's a gay couple, if one of them ends up in hospital their partner isn't even allowed to go visit them since they're not technically Family unless they're married, even if they've been together for 20 years.
Broken, as it is there is a financial incentive for marriage and that is a fundamental complain of gay right/activists groups. Explain to me why else someone would go through a religious ceremony in a religion which is fundamentally opposed to such? I'll tell you this, if I weren't a Christian I wouldn't be getting married, screw being bound to someone. It's my beleifs that guide me to such an action. I am an amoral person by nature and it is my belief in Christ which makes me behave myself. Really, I'd be far more drunk and far more high and screwing far more people if it weren't so.
Your assuming that everyone who gets married is somehow religous? Or should be? Marriage isn't a primarily religous ceremony any more unless one of the couple happens to be religious, the large majority of marraiges don't even take place in churches anymore. And on the "CHristianity opposed to Homosexuality" front, a LOT of Christians will disagree with that and really have no problem with it, the people who use the bible as a pushing point to say your going to hell for being gay promote a terrible image of their religioin.
no, a lot of people who claim to be Christians are opposed to such. I could claim to be black but it doesn't mean I'm true. The fact is that marriage is subsidized to support families. Homosexuals are incapable of "accidentally" having children with each other. Problem solved before it even started. you want my answer to it, if it matters so damn much to a person it shouldn't matter how the federal government labels such a thing. Therefore there shouldn't be an argument. Therefor I should be sending the government my money to fund such things. it's the libertarian argument - don't involve the federal government. I have my religious beleifs... and then I have my political beleifs. both of which roughly coincide. Ideally the government would have virtually no funding and would basically just act to establish standards. If it must exist I am NOT for adding more expendatures. If an expendature must be added, it damned better well be one other than "give subsidize a given group" if such said group has no real merit for such subsidization. and logic will hate me for saying that. She knows damned well what I think. I live on the premise of "tell people what is right, but their actions are their own" I can't really force anything on another and have it amount to anything.
**** religion, gtfo with those who try to let non-believers believe. Like Jehovah witnesses, go worship you God and trouble people elsewhere because annoying the living **** out of people should definitely be a sin. I hate them all at my place. They always go door to door trying to make us believe in their oh-so-awesome God and when I make clear to gtfo they always return next time. Saying they also don't have much money, while they're riding in a nice fucking mercedes. Also, cba to read any post in this thread, way too many wall of texts.
just politely tell them that you're fine and that since you know latin you read the original texts which are more accurate than theirs which... well won't go there too much basically take mainstream Christianity's bible, then start changing out small words here and there and watch as the entire meaning of passages changes. HAHAHANHAHAHA I should try that sometime
I pity those who think gays don't deserve rights. And you know what, I'll visually depict Muhammad whenever the hell I want. I've discovered Saudi Arabia is crap. Women don't have many rights. Like I said, restrict religion from intervening in politics, it ------s everything up. PS: I love how everybody is getting in on this thread. It's just how I predicted it. Thank god.... oh wait a minute...
acknowledge that there is a tremendous difference between rights and privileges. and with that I'll say that the privilege of state sanctioned marriages should not exist. ANY MARRIAGES. The government should but out of our lives.
I dont believe in marriage, its a concept made by religion, seeing as im atheist i dont see why i should fork out a crap load of money to do it, it my woman wants a ring, she can have one, but i'll never marry.
