Hello. I just recently bought a new computer, and it's great for me. But, I've been having problems loading internet pages. I know that it isn't the computer itself, as in the CPU and RAM are sufficient enough to load everything. However, it takes sometimes a few minutes just to load a page, and I don't know why. my old laptop loads perfectly fine on any page, and it's a few years old. I was thinking that it was one of these, but wasn't sure. Firewall: I have CA security, it came free with our internet Cookies: does cookies have anything to do with it? internet connection: my computer is connected to the internet through a usb wireless device, and I am thinking maybe it's the actual connection, though i doubt it. Internet Explorer security: Could I have my settings too high for security on my internet browser? I'm also using Internet explorer 6 on Vista, 1GB RAM, Intel dual core 1.8ghz, 8600GT Nvidia (if video card helps). Thanks for any help.
a lot of people were reporting problems with using internet with the new vista update. Pretty weird, would love to hear the solution as well.
try the following: use a different web browser try a direct connection to the internet try a different OS if it's none of those then it's either your ISP(which sounds unlikely give that you've another system running just fine) or the hardware(also unlikely)
"Internet explorer 6 on Vista" Umm i hope you mean IE7. Try using firefox and see if its the same issue. Whats your connection % through the wireless and how fast is the rate? Check you IE temp file size and increase it if it seems low. Mines around 2GB but that is really overdoing it. See if your trying to connect through a proxy? Disable automatically find settings in the connections>advanced options in IE. Let me know if the above help theres more you can try...
is your internet connection signal good or bad? if bad you are too far away from your accesspoint, that would make some difference too..
Im going to bet its his wireless, if the signal is weak pages can time out. Like xlink said, try direct connecting to the router instead of using wireless. Could be your cache/cookies, try clearing them and restarting browser. fyi, http://www.ccleaner.com will get rid of your cache.
