Does anyone know if this game is any good? I'm thinking about getting it but I want some opinions before I purchase it.
I'm buying it soon too and with extensive research I deem it as a great game to try. My only question is whether it is dependant on servers meaning can it be played in the far future...
Yea it's a fantastic game, I've been playing it for about 2 yrs now (longest game i've played btw) and i still find myself coming back to it occasionally. I'd say either buy guild wars prophecies w/eye of the north(expansion) or nightfall w/eye of the north. Buying guild wars factions depends on what you like. Factions has the most boring and difficult to come back to pve (player vs. environment) world. However the pvp is more of what its known for because of alliance battling, which is really fun and what keeps me playing guild wars nowadays.
I wouldn't recommend it unless you have some friends who play as well, or are looking to join a Guild. PvE is ALOT more fun when you're playing with friends or with your Guild, but just going alone and partying with strangers, it gets tiring really quick. I quit playing when my friends did, but that one year we played was great.
i had the 1st one a about 3 years ago, it good considering you dont have to keep paying monthly like wow, you just have to but the game.. i found it wuite fun but it seemed like something was missing. i only occasionally used to see people around so it's not a thriving game. i found it quite slow to load too :l especial after patches.
I had the first guild wars when it came out and it was quite a good game, very addictive and good value for money comparing with WoW. I think it does have servers but aslong as people keep playing NCSoft will keep them up. As greb said, I wouldn't reccomend you getting it without friends already playing it.
horrible, wait for either of the 3... wow expansion, age of conan... (personal fav) or warhammer online
