So I'm sure that just about everyone here has a dA account, but what do you think of it?

Personally, I think it's much too big. It's just about impossible to get good critique because nobody notices your stuff. I really prefer a place like this for art. Much smaller, more personal.

Yeah it's way too big, but it's good place to have your portfolio I guess...

Overtime people start to notice your work.

The best way to get people to look and critique your work, it to do the same for them. Just go around the message boards, peoples profiles and keep commenting.

    Just give it time.

Yea its more of a place to showcase your art around forums ect.
They tried making a community within the site but it failed in my eyes.
I get like 2 comments on each of my piece of work, so I'd best leave crit for forums.

DA is quite good i feel, its interesting to just go through sections that interest you and browse through them for hours commenting on peoples work, give a few +favs here and there. I personally dont feel that its too big but hey thats just my overall opinion of it.

Managed to get one bit featured today idk why though.. but like what renagade said overtime people begin to notice your work.

I agree way too big, and it should be more focused towards skills, many cases noobs are just submitting stuff that don't even have the term "Art" in them.

Nah its the best place for me to submit fractals (lp). I submit them here and no one notices them. But on DA, People always are fav and commenting me. Thats the only reason how I can stick with stuff, is if ppl critique me lol.

Well yeah I agree that the place is huge and does take time to get comments and critiques. Its the same like ourselves, do we click all of the 20 arts on our mainpage as we log in to dA? No. Others also only click the pieces that they see eye catching. Its a brilliant place to get your portfolio at.

    Hm.
I disagree with the size, if anything it allows for a broader spectrum of critique.

Yes, when you first start out at DA if your not absouletely phenomenal your not likely to get more then a few comments and a few faves. You take the time, you keep submitting and you build up the reputation.

Personally I'm becoming actually known within the "Higher" ups in the space art DA community, you begin to get more faves and comments, people feature you and the like but...we all start out with nothing. You can get some good critique, you just need to keep working and keep submitting, even if it takes a year.

@ Adnan. One of the better things about DA is that practically anyone can submit anything they want if they consider it "Art". Once you start restricting what "Art" is instead of people being allowed to interpret it, your just becoming ignorant.

I think dA is like facebook, kinda. It mostly for your friends who have a dA account to comment on your stuff. Either from forums or rl.

well fractals are a whole different story. thats one of the few places where there is an active community for that sort of thing

that makes sense...its more about the networking.

A resource pack is the #1 way to get your views, comments, etc to go up. It's also not meant to be like a forum for CnC idt - just a place to show off your art. It's alexa rank was 60s or 70s last time I checked...

I find it good. But as i browse over other site's often smaller communties.. i find alot of ripped work. i think that DA helps people rip work really easily. this is why i dont have a DA. I wouldnt like to see other people claiming my art as thier own. i feel that DA is the main site people use to rip work thier should be some protection
its a big community which helps if your looking for help on how to do something. but this is also bad because your work does not get noticed as easily on a forum based site.
