I know this seems like a biased place to ask, but I was wondering why you call them "renders" instead of masked images or objects.

"Render" is already a word in computer imaging, so why do you guys use it for something else?

It's nice to know there's such wonderful personalities around here :) Thank you for sharing your maturity and offering such a wonderful explanation, Greasy Pete.

I'm pretty sure dictionaries don't accept, "who cares?" as valid reasoning for putting in definitions... I wanted to know an honest answer.

sounds cooler and has more "zip" to it than masked images

i really agree greasy pete. what does it matter? why is this called a thread? maybe its something to do with how a C4D render is actually a "render", so when people started cutting out artwork, they just went in the same section as the renders?
