This morning my IPOD just froze at that screen. I tried everything that they said to do on:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=60958

But none of them has worked thus far.

When I connected it to Itunes, I got a message saying that it was corrupt/not responding or something. It could be that the IPOD is just out of power because the battery was low last night, but I'm not even sure if it's charging if itunes isn't even connecting to it now.

    Help?

flip the hold switch from off to on then back to off quickly, then immediately hold menu and center button for 10 secs. thats a hard reset.

If its says corrupt you may need to format it, then put everything back on.
This isnt the first time I have heard of an ipod locking for no reason :\

If formatting dont work, ask apple how much it would be to repair, in some cases it was cheaper to buy a new one...

it must still be under warranty (i dont think those have been around more than a year) so you can take it to an apple store and they'll either fix it or give you a new one (for free)

hold the middle button and the pause/play button at the same time for about 5 seconds. It'll reset the ipod(how i fixed mine)
