OR you could've helped him.. Dude just backup your stuff, do a clean install of Windows XP. I'll suggest you take whatever you can because you will have to do a clean install to make your windows work properly.
Wow can you faggots stop avoiding the question? First step, make sure you know all your hardware components if its custom, or ifs a brand name computer make sure you know the model number A. You are willing to whipe your hdd, but if you want to save your data use a partition program to create a new partition like 40 gb and move your important stuff. (I like partition magic ---, but its not free...) B. After you have saved your data whatever get an xp install and boot up with it C. It will take like 10 minutes on a clue screen, than it shows your partition, remember which one of your partitions is larger if you have made one to save your data D. Delete your main partition (not storage) E. Partition your unpartitioned space with a quick partition selection F. It Will restart after partitioning and like putting xp on the partition or something E. After restart it install xp and depending on if its pirated or not it will ask you about language and stuff and to enter your key (Not encouraging piracy) F. Once you have xp installed here comes the fun hour of reinstalling drivers and such. Theres quite a few driver update programs, but I have yet to find a free one. Alright so if its a brand name computer its simple, google your computer - drivers, such as if I was searching for my laptops drivers (which I downgraded) I would do, Inspiron e1505- drivers, and I see the second result takes me to dell's page, but if you can't find it just go to the brand's homepage and find their drivers section. If its custom you will need to find your motherboard's drivers, sound drivers, graphic drivers, and so on with google or the hardware's homepages. It takes a bit to find and install the software, but I much prefer xp over vista. Next time I wouldn't try a forum cause you get a bunch of faggots who completely go off topic of what you're asking ^_^. Hope this helps.
Whatever thats supposed to mean :3. I changed vista on my laptop to xp cause it doesn't pull on my laptop's resources as much and gives an hour more on my battery
