the face of the mage makes the whole thing go off balance since there is too much black in one spot but the black is the signature part of the mage...

hmm is it possible to add a bit of lighting under the hat to give it a definition from the head?

read tuts and blend the renders
dont make monotone backrounds use color balance and the original render colors
