put the new songs you got into a playlist and make that playlist the only thing that uploads (i think thats what you do)

Buying a Zune and selling your iPod would probably help...

when you go to plug your ipod in with itunes running hold down ctrl and it will cancel the sync and then go to the properties of you ipod and change it to manual adding and then all you have to do is drag the songs to the ipod thing on the left

Manually managing your music eliminates the need to create a new playlist to upload your songs with. You simply change this setting by right-clicking your iPod once connected, go to preferences or settings and select manually manage songs. You are then free to drag and drop whatever songs you would like onto your iPod.
