I agree with the big picture you are saying. I'm almost 21, and I can honestly say that I wasn't even aware of the responsibilities I'm facing now back when I was 16. I was still quite dependent on my mother for a lot of things, much as I still am now in a few aspects. If the girl in question decides to make a choice like that, she just needs to make sure that it's the right decision and that she can support that decision whatever the consequences may be. If she's uncertain of what the consequences might be, then in my opinion she shouldn't be having sex at that age in the first place. Common sense. If it doesn't seem like a good idea at the time, then don't do it.

Neither of these people are directly influencing YOUR life by their actions, and their choices will come back to haunt them in the end. They will get what is coming to them. As for your 1 year old. I know good and well that there are some sickos in this world, but I have never heard of any of them having underage sex with a baby.....strange how that works. Anyone, that was completely unnecessary, but it was a good method to prove that your fear is irrational. The only person that your daughter is at risk of being raped by now is you, or her mother, both cases seem to be very unlikely. Just worry about raising your children, and not what everyone else's kids are doing. If a 16 year old girl wants to have wild nasty sex with an insecure 22 year old who can't get girls his own age, then so be it. Who are we to tell them how to live their lives. I think maybe your trying to ask us if we think its okay for you to have sex with a sixteen year old. Just trying to protect your self in the process. I think its probably not the best idea, but I also think a sixteen year old girl is not a child. She knows what it is and what it means, she can make her own decision.
