i actually like realism sigs A LOT, cheap I love the 30 seconds to mars and killzone tags man, great stuff.

im thinking about starting to work on making these, simply because a sig can look good with just a few minor tweaks depending how you do it, you dont necisarilly need to have 40-50 layers to have a good tag, 10 layers you could have a great one.

    just my opinion.

I know that this defeats the purpose of this thread, but it needs more effects. Realism tags are supposed to create a scene. Put the render in a believable environment, to the point where it looks like he/she was always there and you have, in essence, an ideal reality tag.

What you have, is render cut from a stock, then pasted on some clouds. I know you may have stuck a million filters/adj. layers, but that's all you have in the end. Also, I don't like the angled strokes ( i think it is) on his face. If that's what you consider "age reduction" then you're taking the wrong approach.

Realism tags have always been my favourite, but it gets to the point where the majority of people on this forum won't understand their complexity and I gave up posting them.

I get them.I just think there is a good way to do them and a bad way.Just sticking a cut out onto a new background is like the old photoshop technique where people used to get some random abstract brushes, paste them all over one layer, and then slap a cutout on top.

Now if you get a bunch of images, color match them all, maybe change the perspective of some of them so they fit, add/change the lighting(that's and effect), add the proper shadows to things, and maybe if its an action scene create an explosion or something (another effect) then I would call it a good realism tag.

i think realism tags are great
    and they are so underrated
people who says that it looks like you just put stocks there, and just do it
obviously, they never tried realism before because it takes a whole lot of time just to fit in things in the perfect place

    yep.

realism takes multiple stock blending abilities and preplanning.

when someone tells me my paints look like a smudged stock or something, i take it as a compliment. a lot of people dont realize the trouble it takes to make something that fits with realism, but if youre experienced to know the work it takes to simply blend a render into a new scene, then you will get the respect you deserve.

    I agree with previous 3 posts. :D

Before, I did not realize what realism involved.
However, just by trying out realism showed the work needed for it.
    From find the stocks :P
    to blending
    to lighting
    and more...

It is a very unique style. :)
