Amd Processor Help

    Ok im building my new pc soon cause old one blew up >.>

    I am think about this processer AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400 how good is it compared to a core 2 duo by intel

    that's slower than the slowest c2d.
    it's "Pentium Dual Core" lowend budget territory.

    the graph only shows midrange chips though, current athlon x2s go up tho the 6400+ and c2ds go to e6850 and e8400, the 8400 being the fastest on the market.

    What do you sugest that is cheap but good for gaming ?

    i have amd turion and it does kinda lag when i play games..

    Why AMD?

    Get an Intel E8200 or E4500 (depending on budget) and overclock the crap out of it.

    yes but the core 2 duo or expensive atm when you can get a amd for cheaper does practitcly the same

    you get a cheap as hell c2d and make it run 50-70% faster than stock.

    same price roughly as the x2 4800+

    then get just about any core 2 duo supporting board, IP35 or DS3l work well...
    set the FSB to 300... up CPU volts a bit if need be... viola core 2 duo @ 3.Ghz, it's little more work than that but not much.
