The entire topic of violence and sex in video games has grown tiresome. The whole panel didn't have a clue in what they were talking about and none of them have actually played Mass Effect. The so called "expert" on the panel got more time then Keighley and why? because she wrote a book? The only person who seemed to actually make any sense was the last guy who says he doesn't think the govenrment should sensor everything. The anchor woman actually has the nerve to say "It's unfortunate that parents have to monitor their kids". The next time FOX News decides to have a debate on something, they should spend more then 5 minutes researching about it. Pathetic Gamers strike back! Cooper Lawrence the author of "The Cult of Perfection" recently seen on Fox News giving her "expert" opinion on Mass Effect (posted above) has been getting a lot of negative reviews. It seems gamers who have never read her book are giving their "expert" opinions on her book. They state that there is pornographic material in the book but the publishing industry is not regulated by a ratings authority, unlike the video game she gave an opinion on. So who is going to keep this book out of childrends hands? Shameful.... Link to the reviews! <--- Hilarious! EDIT: When I added the review link above there was some where around 5-6 hundred negative reviews. Amazon has since removed them and there are only 16 now.
"13 year old males haven't seen playboy" I've seen far worse u bitch. "what happened to pinball and Atari?" I don't know? Your mum threw them in the bin?
I'm really glad that they put Geoff Keighley up as the gaming industry's representative because even during the interview in the fairly short segment that they gave him, he hit all the major points, and at the same time basically implied that the woman has no idea what she was talking about. Also, It's really lucky that he asked her if she had played it, because up until then, I thought it was implied that she did. That alone really hurt her argument(which was weak to being with). and what's up with "se"xbox? I thought the people at fox news were supposed to be mature. someone should end up being slapped.
they're worried about minor sexuality in a game... I assume they've never seen the likes of goatse. Trust me, this game won't be the major corrupter.
Rather act it out in a game than act it out in real life right? Like that last guy said, it's up to the parents. It's the parents choice to raise their kids correctly. Teach their kids right from wrong. If something negative happens, you can put some blame on the parents for not doing something about it. People do know that you can block sites, block television channels, and stop their kids from buying video games for your kids. Maybe they should take some time and spend some money to do that. If they refuse, then we all know how much they love their kids.
This is really retarded. Microsoft: "EA, we need that deadline, are you almost done with it?" EA: "Almost, we just need to put in some nudity in it so Cooper Lawrence can gangbang us." Geoff Keighley = instant win. They are just making so much drama about 1 ass shown (saw the censor? ) or a part of a boob (not even the nipple or something). Guys, the game is rated PEGI 18+, so what's the big deal? (don't know how it works in the US) Like we gonna say: "OMG I saw an ass and one part of a boob now I feel like raping someone!!!111!one!!1!" This is just plain wrong.
