Saw it today, the hype for it made me think it'd be some disappointing lame thriller, but it turned out great. Original and fresh and lots of action. Dayum I loved every minute of it! GO SEE IT!
i recommend to NOT watch this movie... about 2 hours of watching a shaky screen... very boring, and annoying. The ending was horrible... It was the worst movie i've ever seen... I cant belive i wasted 8 bucks on a ticket
Agreeing with vengeance, the ending was terrible. But still I recommend seeing it, it really was cool.
lol this movie is a love/hate movie plus should've seen the shaky camera coming if you've seen the trailers
Wow. Tons of people in the theater hated this when I saw it. I don't understand. If you have seen the trailer, you knew what it would be like. If you haven't seen the trailer...why would you see the movie? I personally thought it was a neat idea with the filming. Some of the acting was kinda crappy but overall a decent movie. I would recommend seeing it as long as you aren't paying. It isn't anything super spectacular but it is neat.
I figured something was after the credits. I didnt stay because I was tired. I will see if I can find it on youtube. You should PM me what happened.
Agreed, lemme know what happened. Apparently it was something to do with something being caught on tape (I realize what it was intended to show, but don't know details, heard about it after reading a few reviews).
I suppose some people can accept and grasp the idea of a different camera style and why it is there to begin with, while others is more like "omfg shaky camra ITZ BORINGZ!!!!!!!" Sometimes you have to immerse yourself in a story in a different fashion. Why have the same old 100 million dollar budget Hollywood blockbuster every single time? I suppose when people try and merge several ideas together out of conventional development, the people will act dumbfounded because it's out of place in regular Hollywood. Meh. I'm going to watch this movie tonight. I can't wait. For those who have paid attention to the movie more have loved it. Others who just expect to have a typical Hollywood high-budget monster movie seems to be left in the dust. *shrugs*
I'm going to make a double post. I apologize, but I've just came back from the movies. That being said, possible spoilers ahead. Having came back from the movies, I've somewhat remembered 9/11. You guys are whining, complaining, about the most ludicrous things about the movie. The shaky camera? The idea was a fake documentary, a meaning and new direction of everything. The interpretation of those who lose their lives in a disaster. Their thoughts, their emotions, their actions. People expect too much a 200+ million dollar budget film, with explosions, with soldiers, with an ugly ass monster, to the extent where they don't realize the little things in which this movie is about. The greater meaning. Our every day actions, our every day conversation, is so much taken for granted. Anything can happen. Rob and Beth were arguing their asses off at the beginning of the film. When "it" attacked, Rob went back for her. You know, the documentary feature brings out the imagery and thoughts of someone suffering from something like this. A thing that not only will shake the government, oh no, far deeper than this. The every day individuals trying to find peace and understanding just like any of us. A call that shakes up a family. The thought that your brother, your best friend, your lover, died. These things are what makes Cloverfield a great movie. Not a fancy ass monster. On the outside, it's a monster movie. On the inside, it draws out the paranoia Americans have as human beings since 9/11. That, even today, Americans are STILL ungrateful. What is it going to take? A Cloverfield monster to make us wake up and quit taking for granted the things we have these days? Instead of your average "serial killer omfg" or "OMFG GODZILLA!!!", it exemplifies the fact that any disaster can happen at any moment... not just a monster. Cloverfield is an amazing film. Technologically, it has its downs, yes, but the storyline is phenomenal. People need to see this in a different light. Seriously.
