I'm new to signatures and am not an artist but I really like signatures. I've been browsing through some excellent tutorials on your site and am learning a lot. I'm not into gaming but the art work being produced here is amazing and I'm sure I can learn a lot.

I have some ideas about using photographs of real people in some signatures. My first big task is to create renders from the photographs. Anybody know of a tutorial on how to approach this problem of producing an acceptable image for a signature from a photograph. The rendering is a huge task, but then do I convert the photographic render to pen & ink drawing or just desaturate the photograph for use in a signature?

    :D

Welcome (is new here too). I usually just use the magic wand and edit>clear selection. That's worked out for me in the short time I've been doing graphics.
