Can someone explain bandwidth on a website? Ive got a rough idea but not too sure I've just ordered 10000MB a month on a hosting deal and want to know if thats enough Thanks
Hey Merge! I am Mathijs. Can you tell me something more about myself? No you can't, because you don't have any additional information which requires you to tell me more about myself. Tell us something more about your website, what do you want to run on it etc.
Exactly. So in essence, you have 10gb /month. If someone were to download a 500mb trailer (huge but just an example) you would have 9.5gb of bandwith left for the month. This goes for everything that is downloaded from your server/host to the user. (Images, pages, movies, etc.)
ok heres some diagrams: say you have x amount of bandwidth: ------------------------------------------------------------ and someone goes to your website, thye use y amount of bandwidth witch would look like this ||--------------------------------------------------------- well theres a certain amount of memory that goes through that little bit of bandwidth. If your website uses say 1MB of bandwidth then you can have 10000 people come to your website a month. Basicaly its how many files in memory space that your website can send out a month. I belive that 10000mb of bandwidth would easily be enough
