I don't know much about computers spec wise. Other than that I knowe how to do stuff on them, etc. I know how to get online and check my mail.. you know the important stuff.
However, I just bought a new PC and I'm wondering if it was a good buy.

    Dell
    Inspiron 531
    20" Widescreen Flat Panel
    Windows Vista Home Premium
    AMD Athlon ™ 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4000+
    1.93 GB RAM
    NVIDIA GeForce 6150SE nForce 430
    500 GB Hard Drive
    Payed $699

Did I get a good bang for the buck?

The system itself is worth roughly $620. $635 if it included the cruddy mouse/keyboard the tend to include and $ 650 if they included some cheap speakers

if you factor in 20 mins of labor, you didn't come out too bad and you have a solid general use machine. It's not much slower than my old opteron system I bought 2 years ago for $1000(plus cost of graphics card)

Sweet deal. Yeah it came with keyboard/mouse/speakers. Also DVD burner and a Full Roxio CD program for it.
    Thanks for the reply.

Not a bad deal, however graphics card and processor could use a little work. Still a good deal though.

I forgot to factor in the dvd burner basically add $30 to all my estimates. Not too bad of a deal you got there, considering "IT'S A DELL" and those are usually marked up A LOT.

DId that too... Bought a new one few months ago. Intel E6850, GeForce 8800 GTS 640 MB, 2 GB Corsair RAM, 500 GB HDD. cost me about 1000 EURO, but was worth it :) checked out Dell as well, but they didnt have a fitting PC that would meet my demand ;) especially not concerning the price
