well i have a pc and its great and all, but it is getting old and slow and i think its time for a new one. i was debating weather to stick to a pc laptop...or go for a mac one. What do you guys think? thanks ^^
Go for a good MacBook p.ro and set up a dual boot of XP for when you feel like playing some games/using M$ applications.
EVERYTHING depends on the individual. I'll say this, in general it's best to do your own research as opposed to asking others - especially when it's a product which is heavily advertised and is targeted towards users with low technical skills. I personally think all of apples products are bull----. They charge horrendously outrageous prices(think 50% profit margin while the rest of the industry is getting 1-5%) and their gimmick - their operating system has only one thing going for it - it's gui. aside form that OSX is underperforming and not exactly the most stable of operating systems(compared to other *nix OSes, even free ones). that said, Apples products are solid. I'm the type to slap on winblows(for application support) and something linux based and to dual boot. Use *linux for day to day, and either run windows natively or through a VM and use that fro app support.
xlink is right. you should do your own research. i love my mac. it's stable, it's fast, it's convenient, and it's smart. but thats just me. i think if youre going to switch, now would be a good time though.
I would suggest a mac and dual boot with windows... you usually wont be sorry if you do your own research and pick your own laptop.
That basically sums it all up^ I'll say it here and now, in general winblows is BS, if it weren't for app support and superior drivers there would be no reason for it. But app support and drivers DO matter they are part of a platform regardless. if it weren't for games I'd be running linux exclusively right now using VMware for 3rd party app support. OSX is similar to most of linux and OSX is officially a UNIX operating system. In server workloads and a variety of situations OSX underperforms. But there are a lot of apps which are well developed on the platform. Photoshop being one of them. There is an undeniable price premium however. you can get faster hardware for less money. just weight your options and do as you see fit. I myself might even consider a mac laptop, though I'll see. Desktop side though... forget it(again just me)
