first tag is flat can use more depth and texture, and the lil cutout just isnt working, maybe better compo with it, darken up the lighting side to bring out the texture more..second tag is extremely flat and the composition isnt to hot the extra frame and colors dosent go at all...

dont take what he is saying as a bad thing you should listen to him he knows what he is talking about and you can learn if you would just take his advice and I second everything he said because I see everything he"s talking about

what he says is not bad it's a good thing

your not bad you have major potential and we comment and critique your stuff to help you gain more and more knowledge and skill so if someone gives you a lot of critique kinda like X'd did it's not that we think it's crap it's just we both are nto design and we know the mechanics and science of design so we only try to help you out by giving the perspective on your artwork that you might not have had I know I still to this day need someone else's view cause there is always something I miss.

So never take it as a bad thing and don't think your work sucks if someone gives a crit on it we only givethose crits to better help you along the path to getting better and better .

lol the only time you should take offense is when someone coms out and says "it's crap" or something along those lines. So don't turn what we say as a negative towards your work, we want you to get better and we will do everything in our power to help you along.

and working hard and long on a tag is a very good thing and it's not bad it's just X'd happened to notice a few things you did not like iI said and that's not a bad thing if you fell like his advice wuld be worth something to try then go back and try it out and post a second version and try and see if you've improved the piece. not everybody makes a perfect piece even if they work extremely hard on it. But through experimentation and learning you get better and better and it's such a rush and good feeling when you notice improvement in both your artwork and your knowledge of art all together and at first I was discouraged by some of the thingsppl said about my stuff but I realize now that when I took their advice and tried some of the advice given to me out I saw how much better even I thought it looked and I retained the knowledge and kept going and the thing that keeps me going is that I know their are tons of ppl out there that are better in al areas than me and tat if i keep making goals to get better and try some moreoriginal pieces to get closer and closer to those who make art what it is today.

I say stuff like that all the time...

    <div align="center">...followed by a stream of neg reps</div>

But I can just be a total a**hole sometimes. Usually I try and be helpful, though.

yeah in terms some artists have to get used to blunt critique but until you are used to it it's very discouraging and I believe most of the time it's a bad thing to discourage the so to say artistic adolesence because a lot of them have the gift but not the direction and if they are discouraged away from it that is one less person who could of helped advanced art to a new level so I tend to give very defined and detailed critiques with a smile and an encouragement at the end so that they no I am not just being a dick

Yes, that is usually what i do as well.
Like i may not be as skilled as you guy's yet, but like you said.. sometimes you just need some critique from a different point of view.
