right so.. my brother got this vid card for his pc is brand new from newegg.. XFX PVT73AUDE3 GeForce 7600GT Extreme 256MB 128-bit GDDR3 AGP 4X/8X Video Card now the thign is.. the vid card starts flickering and the screen gets crazy after a few hours.. and an error message said to lower the acceleraiton rate.. quesiton is.. is the vid card defective? or the mobo dont holds it? here is the mobo http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/documen...;product=351810 what tools i can use to lower the acceleration rate? clocks? i tried rivaturner for that but after a day it gave me the same flockerign and screen went crazy
what power supply does that HP have> the 7600 pulls roughly 40W which is a bit of an increased load. does the card have a molex plug in connector? if so use it. are you using the latest drivers? if not google 'nvidia drivers' after trying that, RMA time. FYI if the card is running stable overclocked and it's still crashing it's likely it's NOT the card. If underclocking helps the situation, it IS the card.
I thought all 7 series were PCI-e, also doesn't that mobo have integrated video? Wouldn't that conflict? I built my comp but that question never came up
nah, some are AGP, but 95% or so of them are PCI-e and yes, that's a good thing to bring up, driver conflicts. I normally forget about that because if I do any major hardware changes I tend to reinstall but...
yes it has a plug and it's connected... the PSU i think is some 400 watts not sure, gotta check. it does have the latest drivers and was for the integrated uh thats not an issue, remember u can set which to use in the BIOS disable the integrated one ad use AGP. besides i had another vid card installed i n that pc but was a 5 series 128MB and it ran ok.
