Don't do it, it makes your pc slow. And people will think you have vista and start teasing you and stuff... you don't want that...

You have to have a pretty pathetic PC for it to make much of an impact, really.

swapping the MSSTYLE theme is generally considered to have a negligible impact.

if the performance impact from switching from the default XP theme to a custom vista theme is noticeable, chances are you should be on a stripped down version of 2000 and not XP

I used Windowblinds on a PC with a 2.4ghz Celeron, a gig of DDR133 RAM and a 9600XT, and it had absolutely no performance impact whatsoever. As far as it goes, if your CPU is worse than a 2.4ghz celly, then, as xlink says, you'd normally be struggling to run most stuff inside XP anyway.

Btw, I googled 'vista theme on xp' and this was my first hit. why do people never try google...?

Alright, I had something similar to this

    Download windows blind @ http://www.stardock.com/products/windowblinds/ . Unfortunately its only a trial =( (for 60 days i believe)

after installing, go to http://www.wincustomize.com/skins.aspx?libid=1&c=1 and in the lower right hand corner theres a bunch of tabs such as wallpapers, screen savers, etc. Select windows blind or you can type "windows vista" in the search on the top right hand corner.

a couple of skins i had that i thought looked cool were called "avenger" and "quantria".

although this is a trial version, it lets u pimp out the appearance of ur pc

    hope this helps

Don't get Windowblinds, it just saps unnecessary resources; you should get yourself a hacked msstyles.dll; I haven't had any problems with using one.

Then look on either Deviantart or Wincustomize.
