Does anyone know a really fun PC game i can buy and mod/skin that has a good community/etc?! I'm really into customization and I want to find a really fun game to do it on.
Half-Life 2 /Counter Strike Source. Hammer(The source engine's editing tool) is a very easy program to understand, and places like ModDB and HL2Files have a lot of extra materials to help get you started.
Yeah I have cs source but hammer won't work on my comp so in getting a new 1 soon but thanks I'll check those out any other cool games to mod or skin? It doesn't HAVE to be an online game too
I have to admit, the sims is REALLY fun to mod lol, but seriously, Sourc is probbally your best option.
If hammer doesn't work for you, are you opening it the right way? In steam go to tools and then Hammer editor, choose proper game (which you have to have installed). If that doesn't work, there's a steam developer community out there, but I don't remember the site address. Also another good game to mod is Unreal Tournament 3 or any of the other unreal games out there. Here's a really great library of videos that help you learn about UnrealEd (UT3's editor) : LINK
yeah the programmers messed it up but i googled it i just needed to change one thing that was pretty dumb but yeah it works fine already made a map and a skin its sweet and ive already modded halo 2 in the golden days but ive made so many mods ive moved on to something new since halo 2 got old but it was still really fun and fairly easy to mod and the first sims or sims 2???? i have both anyways but im JW
