What is the best program out there for scanning for tracking cookies, viruses, trojans and other things I currently use Ad-Aware 2007 Profess addition... do you guys know of any other program?
AVG anti-virus, AVG anti-spyware, AVG anti-rootkit they can all be found here for $0.00 http://free.grisoft.com/
NOD32 is pretty good only like 12 mb dont use much RAM nor CPU usage like norton does but IMP ther eis no best AV is just user prefference as said before
Theres no best antivirus, but I can't remember the last time I had a virus since I started using NOD32.
I use spybot for spyware and other such things. I use avast antivirus for viruses and worms. Spybot, in my opinion, is a good choice. Has very good reviews and such. But the others mentioned are good as well.
You can try Avast antivirus too. I've gotten no viruses since I started using it, and I believe that the first year is free.
The thing is with the people who say there AV hasnt found anything yet, its probably because its hasnt detected it
I used to use Symantec Anti-Virus and Symantec Firewall until I got my new computer. Though the two I mentioned only comes in a corporate edition.
I really recommend NOD32, or Kaspersky, but NOD32 is definitely the best anti out there. You probably are being keylogged also, open up processes, and see if there are any suspicious running ones, do a search for the suspicious processes, if any of them are reported dangerous, end the process. Do a system restore immidiately after you delete the process/run a scan and delete the current viruses/trojans/keyloggers.
they all work fine, until you get a virus, thats the trick they all drop you into. TBH i would say norton if your RAM can take it, seen as all the businesses i see use that, my advice would be keep your pc organised and it is much quicker to scan, and much easier to delete incorrect files etc, and see things that shouldnt be there
