Post your thoughts whether you like Zune's or Ipod's better.

I personally like the zune better. I have an 80gig zune which is great for me. I think the touch is nice but when will I need wifi... Rather use my psp. Also for the same price as an 8gb touch you can get an 80gig zune... I think apple overprices a ton. The zune is much more prettier :P, And can be customized a lot more. The zune program has a way better GUI which you can always expect from Microsoft and is a ton easier to find your songs.

I'm supuse to order my Ipod touch tomarrow. I chose it over the zune because of the touch screen, wifi, and 3rd party apps.

Web Browser can be useful while looking for a book or reviews on a book a Borders.

    touch has bigger screen

You Can't deny the Sexy Touch Screen.

    Facebook + Ipod = Awsomenessesseress

But Im also a sucker for good design and have been captivated by alot of the marketing done by the zune. But in the end I still chose the touch

    Also...

Zune has the zune pass which is basically a plan that for 15 bucks a month, you can download unlimited songs.

Homie, you obviously haven't used the touch screen yet. My friend got it for christmas, and said "Dude screw this, I can't even log into myspace because the touch screen keyboard is so gay".

So yeah, internet is terrible on the iTouch.

So no, web browser cannot be useful for looking for a book or reviews on a book a (?) borders.

Zune has 10x the memory. I'd rather have 10x memory than a slightly bigger screen.

I can deny the gay touch screen.

    Facebook + touch screen keyboard = ooohh....clusterbomb....

I am also a sucker for good design and have been captivated by a lot of the marketing done by the zune.

Zune Pass - 15 month plan for unlimited songs

Zune Card - customizable zune profile for the zune forums.

Zune has a better online store, imo, and I have had an iPod and a Zune so my opinion is not biased.

    @Showtime:

    I get mine legally. D:

But also the most reliable, with a standard customer service and easier to use imo. I believe that iTunes and Zune Marketplace are the only two online music store that are directly associated with their own MP3 player, and if I were to go buy an off-brand cheap MP3 player I'd probably have to use limewire or an online store. I see a bunch of these off brands all the time, and they come in small packages, look cheap and don't even have a screen, probably come with a cheap folded-up instructions paper and then you have to figure out how you will get your music on them. I'm sure there are better ones out there, but not as easy to use / reliable and you won't be able to find gift cards to gift someone some music for those off-brands.

last time I checked people were saying the same thing when the iPod came out in reviews. I can quate an infamouse slash dot review.
ipod - no wireless. Less space than nomad, more expensive. LAME.

i mean really, Apple doesn't make it they're fabless if you haven't noticed. Most of the design on the iPods is outsourced and ALL of the construction is.
and the Zune is made by Toshiba.

If I bought a toshiba brand MP3 player you'de call it off brand, but If I had a Zune, it wouldn't be? umm WTF same company's product.

and seriosuly, you don't look around enough.
check out the Creative Zen, Check out the sans disc sansa, heck check out most of everything.

I'm not talking about the $ 20-50 bargain binned mp3 players. I'm referring to the $80-150ish ones which compete with the 8GB nano but at around half the cost.
There is a lot on the market. This is a HIGH PROFIT MARGIN industry. The 8GB iPod nano costs roughly $55 to produce. I'm going to assume the 8GB zen(as an example) might cost $65 to produce because it's done so at a lower volume and due to additional costs for it's built in voice recorder and FM radio. They have an MSRP of $100. That's a 50% mark up. That's a dang healthy margin. Subtract $15 for the retailer and $5 for transport and other costs and that still leaves a good margin. Then compare to an iPod. Manufacturing cost is roughly $50. MSRP is $200. I've heard they only give retailers around a 5% margin so deduct $10 for that. Then deduct $10 for other misc costs. that's a $130 margin per iPod nano sold. That's unheard of in the consumer goods industry.

and yes I know there is a price discrepancy, BUT, NAND flash memory fell by nearly 50% in the last 6 months.

i havnt actually used a zune, but i thoroughly enjoy my ipod
its quite reliable, my first one i had for two years only stopped using, is because i hit soemthing inside of it on the ground and fluid leaked blocking out half the screen it got kinda old after a while, but still runs fine
zune is new popular but new and fairly little is known about it for most people, the zune online store sounds badass compared to the piece of ---- itunes offers, where you cant even re-download your songs if you lose them or switch to a new comp, which is a bunch of bs, but it has its reliability at points, ive purchased about 170 songs on my itunes, from itunes and from previous cds i own
    got about 550 songs :P

zune cannot compare to the new ipod touch....

one thing though, i got an ipod classic 80gb, instead of a touch, because i have a laptop and rarely travel, so wtf is the point of having an ipod with internet, when i can walk two feet and get on an actual computer
cool concept if u travel alot but if not , its a waste of time, only good for when your showing off lol, do love the screen size though

You can re-download your songs if you lose them or switch comps. You just go to store>check for downloaded songs and if you switch comps just go to store>Authorize computer.

I just got a iPod Touch 8GB last week and I think its awesome. Works great for videos and youtube, but sometimes the web browser is annoying because I tend to press the wrong thing becuase I have larger fingers. I think overall its great but the battery life is kinda short, you can get a day at the max w/ videos, youtube, and internet.

I would get the zune. You save a lot of money because the iPods are a bit pricey. They also freeze up a lot and once it freezes you'll have to wait for it to run out of batteries. I also like the Creative Labs mp3 players. As well as San Disk... iPods are a bit overrated imho...
