Anyone else think the 2nd ed. of the g15 was more of a downgrade then an upgrade? I've noticed theres less macro keys and the the lcd screen isnt on a hinge like the 1st any other things that could be viewed as downgrades or upgrades?
I have a first revision, my mate has a second revision, and I'm seriously considering selling/moving it on and buying a Logitech DiNovo Edge, which would eliminate a fair amount of the clutter and cabling. The screen is less than useful, especially as I already have 3 decent sized monitors, and an LED panel on my PC case.
I used to use the g15 1st'ed in high school for the last year in my comp tech class and i liked the feel so i was thinking about getting one i dont really care about cutting edge stuff for 2 reasons not the newest comp and its a keyboard just needs to function well. and anything would be a step up from my current keyboard that came with the comp after a couple of moves its not in such great shape.
If your seriously into gaming and dont mind to order online, then i think this kb is pretty sweet: http://www.roccat.org/index.php?ROCCAT=---...l=9|ROCCAT+Valo "...Besides incorporating the essential gear for any gamer, this tool will delight you with its diversity. Featuring the world’s first TurboCore Processor Unit and an unprecedented 2MB of memory this keyboard can store 5 profiles internally. Each profile contains 4 layers and each layer can store 41 macros with up to 512 key commands plus timing information. Can you think of any other keyboard that stores a total of 420,000 commands and 420,000 timings in its own on-board memory?..."
That looks mighty sick!!! BTW, G15 1st ed, seemed better.. 2nd ed seem more of a "less feature".. IMO. Yet, I own a Saitek Eclipse
Meh, gaming keyboards are hype. I configured macro keys on my generic M$ keyboard before I got my G15, and I ended up not using the ones on the G15 at all due to their annoying location. Having to completely take your hand off the keyboard and located it makes it difficult.
I like big bulky keyboards and reaching the macro keys isn't a issue. To Scimjara you have nothing productive to say ever from the looks of it find a new forum furthermore keyboards are more useful then mice and a case has nothing to do with this.
Ive tryed both the old and new g15 and i definitely would say the old g15 is better. Not to mention i picked a floor model up for $45 compared to the $100 a new g15 was going for.
