probably not the best idea to ask for donations, if they feel your nice and helpful MAYBE they might decide to give you a few but dont go an ask for them unless your doing renders or something that they say they are going to pay for
take a dremel to the casing. add a fan. http://jab-tech.com/YATE-LOON-120mm-Case-F...12-pr-3009.html fin
or go ghetto http://bp0.blogger.com/_Fa-NqGm0-Lk/RncEdI...o+pc+cooler.jpg nah just playing i don't own an xbox 360, did not know they sold coolers for it, interesiing...
DO NOT GET A INTERCOOLER.. MICROSOFT SAYS IT TAKES POWER FROM CONSOLE AND CAUSES FRYING... Get a stand/fan thing...
what would it benefit microsoft to tell ppl not to buy something they make profit off of? they get a percentage of the selling price of those intercoolers, they are probably saying not to by the ones that hook to the system cause they can't think past their own greatness and think of putting a better power supply to support an intercooler if one is necessary to keep it from frying itself like an egg on the belly button of a shaved monkey in iraq. all that aside my buddy has an intercooler and it works just fine it's too loud for my taste but he still gets the ring of death just not as much. my suggestion is get a stand alone powered liquid cooling system from frozencpu.com or newegg.com that way it is powered through it's own power supply and all you have to do it crack the case and install it although that does void your warranty Microsoft's warranty department licks balls anyways
from what I see, it's just 3 small 80mm fans. and nothing else each fan would draw something like .3 amperes at 12V tops. and if it's me, then they'de be running @ 7V instead because I like silence 3 * 7 * .3 = ~7W if the xbox 360's PSU doesn't have 7W headroom, then... WOW. That would truly be the ----tiest POS I've ever seen. now if the intercooler is doing something with TECs or some sort of exotic, power hungry heat exchange system then that's different, but standard fans? no... I'm going to be serious on this, if it is an issue, find a cell phone charger which converts 120V AC into 7V DC and just wire it to the fans in parallel. isn't too hard if you've got a reasonable understanding of electronics.
I agree with xlink, although I removed the intercooler from mine cause I just didn't wanna take any risk and I realized it doesn't help the 360 cool down that much so I kinda found it to be pointless. Nyko has even said that the rate of the intercooler being defective is like under 1% and that they'd replace the intercooler and the 360 if the intercooler damaged the 360. Then again they just say this so they wont look bad and be responsible. According to engadget: "It was noted that the Intercooler can even elicit "brown discoloration" around the system's AC input before users are faced with the ominous red ring" I personally wouldn't take any risks, so I wouldnt get the intercooler and instead I'd just get a usb intercooler if you think your 360 gets overheated. Seriously tho the red ring of death isn't really that much of an overheating problem, so dont even bother getting a fan. Just leave it in an open space, my 360 hasn't gotten the red ring of death and thank God for that, so yea dont even waste money on a fan, it really doesn't help.
i dont even have a cooler and thats one of the reasons why my 360 broke because it overheated after playing Gears of war for like 12 hours straight
I have one to stop my xbox from freezing and getting the rings of death but once i bought it it stopped the ring of death but it froze alot more ive stopped using it now and my xbox is fine now and freezes now and again but i do have the 1rst generation xbox that had loads of bugs in it
