you guys are like the biggest graphics site on the web, it would be cool to have a large selection of skins to select from. Everyone has there preferences and when youve got as many members as GR you guys have a lot of personal prefs to acknowlege i personally would like to see GR in a more ----- enhanced light skin as apposed to these overdone, overused dark skins that appear on almost every graphics site/forum on the web
It would be interesting to see a white skin on GR, but we have bigger things to worry about right now. Dem put allot of work into this one, and it wasnt that long ago it was made.
lol . fair point made, this ones great awsell by the way. im not dissing it. lol not a white skin, that sounds horrible.i just a simplistic enough light themed skins. Ive seen some great ones. If is considered advertising, delete this part of the comment rite away, but for example follow the link in my sig to crystal clear designs, that sorta thing , and that just made by some randomer, if GR started a comp for skin design people would be throwing skins at you guys lol ---- by the way, i dont really pay attention, what sort of other problems is GR facing???
The primary reason we don't offer additional skins is due to the fact that we had about a years worth of complaints regarding our last one, and due to both public and staff vote, this skin was chosen. Perhaps when I get some more time though I will create a lighter template. I have had a few ideas running through my head =). As for competition, we ran one, for $200+ and we got really, really poor design entries with the exception of 2-3.
^ thats because there arent many webdesigners at GR, if you would run it at sitepoint it would attract alot more and way better webdesigners

Fortunately I also make thousands a month on that site, so it wouldn't have made a drastic difference, and most of the people from that site are unimaginative and use the same base colors used in a slightly different whored layout. We have plenty of professional designers here whom make a living from web templates on GR, they also have egos larger than life and think $200 is shit for money, not to mention the publicity you get from the worlds largest non-professional graphics website that they failed to consider. We have plenty of potential here, just no one who chooses to rise to the occasion thinking that they can start off in the business making a thousand+ a template.
Preferably I like the darker skins when showing off my work it's like showing it off on a black matte board it helps bring out certain aspects of a design so making a lighter template will have it's downsides
Many people asked already, and it would probably cost GR too much money since they would most likely get a custom skin. I Highly Doubt This Will Happen. Good Suggestion Though.
