    Yo Guys,

    Wanted to know about how to start a website search engine like google or yahoo and others out there.

    Got any good ideas on what scripts to use and what certificates to buy and how would i start a site like google? or something similar?

    if you have to ask, you're not ready for such an undertaking.
    site front end of google is simple, the HTML is a breeze.

    the backend, where there is so much scripting i don't know where to begin, is incredibly complex.

    Try working for one of the companies instead, it'd be easier. :P

    I could probably get a job at google, or yahoo since one of my parents best friends work there
    so that could help me to get a job there
    but i was just wanted to start a site like that myself .. ooh well will see ifanytone at gogole with lep me

    There's a reason why Google has such little competition. It takes millions of dollars and plenty of expert codemonkeys to get a search engine as powerful and efficient as google currently is.

    and a few Billion in server and related expenses(electric, cooling, etc.)

    Yep. Imagine having the thousands upon thousands of people simultaneously using a search engine... you're gonna need a bad-ass server, and a bad-ass content management and SQL system.

    lol at the corrections but i agree with him

    if i start something out like google it will probably take couple of million of dollars to get the right amount of setup and stuff

    Not worth it, anyway. You wouldn't make money from it. There's too much competition with way to much financial backing.
