Ive got an Acer Aspire 5050 on which i would like to run COD4.. Although my Laptop meets the minimum specifications it does not meet the recommended. I would like to purchase another 1GB of RAM for my notebook but i am not sure which RAM is compatible. My specs are....

    CPU - AMD Turion 64 Mobile MK-36
    RAM - DDR2 1024 MBytes
    OS - Vista Home Basic

All i would like to know is which RAM is compatible and if there there is any 1GB Sticks of RAM compatible for the store www.pcworld.co.uk

    Thanks , ~M1k3y

You can go here and use this scanner. http://www.crucial.com/

I think you only have 2 slots in that note book. So if it has 1GB already, i'm sure its 2 sticks of 512 filling up both already. Just another thing to check.

If it's 1 gig, than it's probably 2 512's like duck said, so just buy 2 sticks of 1gb DDR2 ram.

Also, TBH, RAM will help, but if you're system isn't up to scratch, it'll be rather pointless. What GPU do you have?

graphics prossesing unit, doesnt matter how much ram you shove in it if your video card cant play it(dont shove your ram in, place it in slowly and correctly, wouldnt wanna waste money)

3d mark results gives that laptop 593 marks, Dell XPS M1210 got 2090, and Alienware Aurora M-7700 got 7078

so it seems to me like you wont be able to play it, but lets wait for the pros

Unless you have a dedicated video card, there's no way in hell you'll be able to run Crysis (EDIT: COD4). Even if you do, it needs to be a decent one.

Anyway, Crysis wasn't even that good. The whole free form thing died pretty early on.

Thanks, wise guy. That's what I mean't to say.

I would say give up. That laptop isn't going to run it acceptably no matter what you do to it.
