I already have a 7900gt and a antec 480w psu so I don't really need to worry about those two right now, but does this setup look like it will work well together? and its for gaming and other stuff like that. I also plan to OC it a little bit. Also I got all of the parts from www.memoryexpress.com so please don't tell me to get them from somewhere else.
I'd say ditch the 650i Motherboard and go for a P35 one. Unless you specifically want to use the SLi features, it's generally a sub-par board.
I don't want to spend like 200 on a mobo though really and i don't even think i will use the sli tbh either lol. How about the ASUS P5K-VM it has ddr2 1066 would that be better along with upgrading the ram to like 8500?
same memory a fraction of the price http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16820146565 better heatsink, lower cost http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16835154001 the rest of everything looks solid and well priced.
------in hell I'm jealous of US pricing. Even with the current NZ conversion rate you're getting stuff for much much cheaper.
er did u know the PSU is VERY important? the watts you have, make better performance and when you have a powerfull vid card and hd's ect etc u need more watts just a comment and as i read u plan to OC so ye.. consider more watts
did you know that when you look at a power supply, wattage should not be the first thing you look at? What matters most is rail stability, aka how much ripple there is and basically how clean the power output is. the second thing to look for would be the load distribution. and at that point you cna pretty much stop as there is no need to even look further(aka no need to even know what the total systems output is) EG: 400W enermax liberty can put out 30Amps on the 12v Rail 500W POS low quality power supply might only put out 15amps on the 12v rail. the first on can power a 8800GT, 4Gb RAM, and an overclocked q9600 while mantanin stability and it even has some headroom. the second one will either be unable to start, will damage the hardware, or will result in numerous system hangs and restarts.
A 480w Antec should be more than sufficient to power most any setup (excluding perhaps a TriSLI Quad Core Setup, of which I only know one person to possess). When I was helping my friends pick components for new PCs a few weeks back both of them were insistent on wanting an 850w PSU like I have, despite the fact the 450w Enermax unit I was recommending was more than sufficient.
it could be sufficient depending what you doing in the pc but if going to OC then yes don't u need a nice and stable PSU or all antec are that great? i had an anetc before 460 watts yes it ran nice but i sitll updated to more watts after i got and SLI
the psu should be fine and sufficient for it but if you want peace of mind or rather a very high quality psu get this and be done with it http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16817139001
ok i kinda changed some things around and noticed they had some more deals but is this one better or pretty much the same for a little bit cheaper? didn't need sli so i just changed the board to something cheaper
